I live in Orkney. An impressive group of Scottish islands off the north coast. I have drawn all my life and studied in NCAD Dublin. I was brought up on our family farm, Quanterness so animals feature in much of my work. I have ridden horses since I was young. My first pony, Seigfreid was a dapple grey Shetland. Today I still enjoy the great outdoors by horseback, with my mother Christine. I really love where I live and firmly believe that if you surround yourself with beauty it is much easier to create beautiful artwork. I became an STGA Green Badge Tour Guide several years back to give something back to the place I grew up. I also find it very inspiring to meet others from around the globe. As any creative person will tell you, you have to spend some time away from your studio in order to generate any exciting new work. My passions lie with books, pencil drawings and the colours of Orkney. I live and work from home with my husband Roy, our two sons and a fierce cat.
